Chris Taylor — Indé
A video for Chris Taylor, directed by LordFace in a hired studio in the south of Paris. A white cyclorama, a Nikon run as a camera with remote focus, and a laptop on the floor for a video village. Shot the day after the hospital.
The day after the hospital, a rental studio in the south of Paris with a white cyclorama. The artist in the middle of it and nothing else in frame — the exact opposite of the ruin they had been standing in twenty-four hours earlier, shot by the same three people.
The entire monitoring setup is a small laptop lying on the cyclorama floor with one cable running to it. A step ladder and somebody's bicycle wait just outside the frame line. Guerrilla is not a style here, it is an inventory.
Shot on a Nikon — a stills body used for motion, with remote follow-focus on the lenses, which in 2014 was still enough of a rig to be worth mentioning. The look of that period comes straight out of it: shallow, warm, and a little more fragile than a proper cinema camera would have given.
